This resource is aimed at providing pupils in junior/middle classes with picture prompts for practising their narrative writing skills. Each writing template contains three Christmas-themed images which are roughly connected. The job of the pupil is to connect these three elements into a piece of narrative writing. The resource contains 25 different story writing templates.

Each writing template has the three images for the piece of writing at the top of the page. Underneath, there is a box for pupils to give their piece of narrative writing a title. The template then has ten lines for pupils to write their story. Also included is a sheet which contains just lines for those pupils who wish to continue their story onto another page. There is also a template with three blank boxes at the top of the page for pupils to draw their own three elements that they wish to include in a story.
