Coded Christmas Sentences 01

This fun literacy-based seasonal resource is aimed at pupils in middle standards. Pupils are given an alphabet code where each letter of the alphabet is represented by a random number 1-26.

Pupils are then  given seasonal sentences with a word missing – the missing word is written in the number code. The pupil then has to work out the code to find the missing word. The sentence can then be written out in the pupil’s copy.

“Nollaig Ar Scoil” Twitter Project

After the unexpected success of the Christmas Twitter Project last year, where so many schools Tweeted about what they were doing in their classrooms on the theme of Christmas, it was inevitable that it should return for a second year.

Nollaig Ar Scoil” was the name of last year’s Twitter Project and the idea is really simple. Just Tweet with your pupils any time over the next two weeks about any Christmas-themed work that you are doing in your classroom or school. Even better, Tweet a photo of some of your work. To keep all of the Tweets together, use the following Twitter hashtag:#NollaigArScoil

Santa’s Workshop Gift List

This resource is designed for use in a Santa’s Workshop role play area in the classroom. It contains gift lists for sixteen children, eight boys and eight girls. Each list has three gifts that the child asked Santa for, two gifts and a surprise.

The idea is that pupils, in role play as elves in Santa’s Workshop, select a child’s gift list, find the items on the list, wrap them and place them on Santa’s sleigh, ready for delivery.
