Christmas Is For Sharing
“Christmas Is For Sharing” is the 2014 Christmas advert from the Sainsburys store in the UK. It commemorates an extraordinary event which took place during the First World War one hundred years ago: the Christmas Truce. On Christmas Day 1914, the opposing troops laid down their arms, crossed “no-man’s land”, shared some food and played a game of football.
This video could be used as a great introduction about war and conflict, especially at this time of year. It could also be used as a starting point for some creative writing.
Check out the Sainsburys website for some more information and the story behind the advert.
