Santa Heads

Santa HeadsThis is a seasonal resource for junior pupils or SEN pupils. Pupils are required to cut out the Santa heads and arrange them in numerical order. Younger pupils could be required to only do numbers 1-5 and older pupils could do numbers 1-10.

This is a simple video for younger pupils. It is a counting song, with numbers 1 to 9, with a seasonal theme where pupils are counting Christmas bells.

Christmas Maths

This short video shows how to integrate the Christmas season into a maths activity in the classroom. Maths sums are written on Angel bodies and the answers are written on Angel wings. The pupil has to calculate the answers to the sums and match the correct Angel bodies to the wings.

White Christmas Slice Recipe

This is a simple recipe that could easily be done with pupils in school. You just need some way of melting chocolate. The rest is just measuring ingredients (good for maths skills) and adding them to the melted white chocolate. The fun is in eating the finished product.

To Give a Present

This is a short animated movie showing a selection of 3D shapes giving each other presents at Christmas. As well as being fun, it could be used by younger pupils to identify different 3D shapes as they appear on screen.

Christmas Clock

This website displays a countdown to Christmas Day telling the number of days, hours, minutes and seconds until the big day. This would be great to have as a display on the IWB in the classroom and would surely excite the pupils. However, it would also be remiss of the teacher to neglect to exploit the opportunity to use this resource to teach the measures strand of the mathematics curriculum, especially the element of time.
