Christmas Bingo 01

Christmas BingoEducational bingo games are a great way for pupils to learn so many different skills. They help with listening skills, visual discrimination, group work, turn taking and the reinforcement of the learning content of that particular bingo game.

This bingo game focuses on the theme of “Christmas” and it features typical Christmas images. It is aimed at a group of six pupils, so it would be useful for Station Teaching or for Aistear work on the theme of Christmas.

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer

Rudolph The Red-Nosed ReindeerThis is a seasonal, fun literacy exercise for junior pupils, SEN pupils or those with literacy difficulties. Pupils have to fill in the gaps to complete the seasonal song, “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer”.

This resource comes in two parts. Laminate all sheets in this resource. Cut out the five images on pages 2 and 4 and adhere them using Velcro to the five spaces at the bottom of pages 1 and 3. Place Velcro in the other five spaces on pages 1 and 3. The pupil has to choose which of the images at the bottom of the page complete the song.

Nativity Don't Mention It!This is a seasonal oral language activity in a Powerpoint Presentation that can be done with pupils probably in the middle/senior classes. A pupil stands with their back to the IWB screen while another pupil faces the screen and describes to the first pupil what the object on the screen is. However, they must not mention any of the three words on the right hand side of the slide.

Sentence Builder 03These seasonal sentence builder activities are great for infant pupils as well as pupils with learning difficulties or special educational needs. They help to develop vocabulary, sentence structure and left to right orientation. They feature “The _____ is ____” sentences and also focus on -ing verbs. All pages should be laminated; the words on pages 7-9 should then be cut out.
